TCO savings by replacing belt, USA

ERIKS Company Lewis-Goetz helps customer save over $ 1 million annually

At the plant of one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry bags traveling on a conveyor belt were being torn open when pushed by a mechanized arm. The conveyor belt was gripping the bags too firmly, causing some of them to rip upon contact with the mechanical arm.

Lewis-Goetz collaborated with another equipment manufacturer to examine the belt and determined that the incorrect belt was being used for this process. It was recommended that a longitudinal groove belt replaced the rough top belt that was currently in use. Since installation of the new belt was completed, the plant’s production has increased by one pallet per hour and there are no longer any issues with bags being ripped open. With this solution, the customer saves $ 1 million annually.
